Paul Blackburn’s debut for Yankees goes terribly wrong in the ninth inning with disaster stations

Somehow an ugly series became even uglier.

Much, much uglier.

Paul Blackburn-Die Net signed to the Yankees after being released by the Mets and De Yankees gave seven points in the ninth inning of their 12-1 loss for the Red Sox on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

The loss marked the eighth of the Yankees directly to Boston.

A ninth from hell contained a range of embarrassing miscues.

Anthony Volpe committed a mistake, playing a routine grounder at ShortStop and then threw it over Ben Rice’s head at first base and in the Yankees Dugout.

That enabled Nathaniel Lowe to score and Ceddanne Rafaela to reach third base.

Then Rafaela scored on a Balk from Blackburn.

And only a few moments later Carlos Narvaez crushed a two-run Homer.

“To be honest, the Yankees are ashamed of the field in Yankee Stadium,” said Play-by-Play broadcaster Michael Kay on the broadcast.

Later, when the inning finally ended, Kay said: “To be honest, the Yankees are trained by the Red Sox.”
