Dr. Mohan, who is also secretary of the Patna Obstetric and Gynecological Society, was formally appointed to the new role for the term 2026-2028 at the ongoing annual conference of FOGSI at the Yashobhumi Convention Center in New Delhi.
She succeeds Dr. Charu Bapaye of Pune, who completed her term as chairperson of the committee.
The conference also marked a significant leadership change at the national level, with Dr. Bhaskar Pal from Kolkata taking over as President of FOGSI for 2026.
FOGSI is one of the largest professional organizations of obstetricians and gynecologists worldwide, with more than 46,000 members in India and abroad. The organization plays a critical role in shaping maternal and women’s health care policies, vocational education, and public health programs.
Dr Mohan’s appointment to the national committee is expected to further strengthen initiatives in breast health and maternity care and is widely welcomed by the medical community, the federation said.
