According to Fabrizio Romano, Lucas Paqueta wants to leave West Ham and has already reached an agreement with Flamengo on personal terms. Discussions between the clubs are apparently ongoing.
Two months ago, Paqueta spoke openly, if unwisely, about his desire to return to Brazil and play for Flamengo again. He revealed that he had spoken about this with Luis Felipe, his friend and head coach of Flamengo, and that he had also expressed his wish to his representatives.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder is under contract with West Ham until the summer of 2027, but the Premier League side will certainly not want to hold on to the player against his wishes to return to his home country – always assuming their transfer demands are met.
Paqueta has made a total of 139 appearances for the Hammers in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and producing 15 assists, since joining the London Stadium from Olympique Lyon in 2022. He also played for AC Milan and has 61 caps as a Brazil international to his name.
