Palmer returns: predicted Chelsea XI vs West Ham United

After a memorable away win against Napoli in the Champions League, Chelsea will look for their fifth success in a row, this time in the Premier League, as they welcome relegation-battling West Ham United to Stamford Bridge.

The Londoners will face off tomorrow at 5.30pm local time on matchday 24 of the Premier League, with the Blues hoping to pick up three more points to continue their quest for a place in the Champions League. Here’s how they could line up against the Hammers.

Remember new hair

Goalkeeper – Robert Sanchez is expected to keep his place in goal for the home side.

Defenders – Reece James played as a centre-back in the Champions League, but could return to the right-back position in the West Ham match, and Marc Cucurella could continue as a left-back. It is expected that Wesley Fofana will keep his place in the team and Trevoh Chalobah may return to play alongside the Frenchman in central defence.

Palmer begins

Midfielders – Andrey Santos played in the win over Napoli, but he could be on the bench in the game against West Ham. As a result, Enzo Fernandez could play a deeper role in the double pivot for Chelsea, partnering Moises Caicedo. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer is expected to be back in the starting XI as an attacking midfielder.

Estevao Willian could once again be named on the right wing for the home side and Pedro Neto could also be chosen over Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens to play on the left.

Come on – Joao Pedro has found the back of the net in the last two games and is expected to lead Chelsea’s line again.

Here’s what the Blues are expected to look like on paper.
