All was set for the biggest celebrity wedding of the month, but just hours before the pheras, Smriti Mandhana’s father Srinivas Mandhana fell seriously ill and had to be rushed to a hospital in Sangli, the hometown of India’s vice-captain.

Amid the growing buzz and wild theories circulating on social media, Palash’s sister and renowned playback singer Palak Muchhal spoke about how tough this period has been for everyone involved. She said the past few days have deeply tested both families and they are focusing on staying hopeful and calm. Yes, she hasn’t said anything about their wedding plans.

Palak Muchhal was quoted by Filmfare as saying, “Your family has been going through a crazy time lately; how difficult is it for you, Palash and Mithoon ji to clear some kind of head space, focus on the right things and separate them from the wrong things? Hum positivity is possible, so how difficult is it to focus on positivity as a family right now?”

The singer further added, “I think the families have been going through a very, very difficult time, and as you just said, I just want to reiterate that during this time we would like to believe in positivity and spread positivity as much as possible and stay strong, yes.”
