Pakistan: AHF announces schedule for Hockey Asia Cup 2025 hosted by India

The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has officially unveiled the competition schedule for the Hero Asia Cup Rajgir Bihar 2025, which will take place from 29 August to 7 September in Bihar, India.

After the withdrawal of Pakistan and Oman, a revised scheme was released.

Kazakhstan and Bangladesh have been added as replacements.

However, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has not yet issued an official statement with regard to the withdrawal.

The prestigious continental championship will not only decide the top team in Asia, but will also serve as a qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium – Eherland 2026, where the tournament winners protect a direct berth.

The action -packed event starts on August 29, with defending champion Korea who opens their defending defense against the Chinese Taipei at 11:00, followed by hosts India who takes China for an expected electrical home public at 3 p.m.

The participating teams are divided into two Pools:

  • Pool A: India, Japan, China, Kazakhstan
  • Pool B: Malaysia, Korea, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei

After the polar phase, the top teams will continue to the Super4S, culminating in the grand finale on September 7, where the champion will lift the Hero Asia Cup trophy and ASIA’s Slot will be on the World Cup Hockey 2026.

Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) President Fumio Ogura expressed his excitement for the tournament.

“The Hero Asia Cup Rajgir Bihar 2025 will bring together the very best Asian hockey. With the qualification of the World Cup on the line, every competition will have enormous importance,” said Ogura.

“We are convinced that this edition will present exciting competition, inspire millions of fans and leave a permanent inheritance for the sport in Asia,” he added.
