Paddy Pimblett unloads Arman Tsarukyan after title fight withdrawal

Paddy Pimblett has once again fired shots at number one ranked UFC lightweight contender, Arman Tsarukyan.

Tsarukyan and Pimblett have been at odds for some time. Recently, tensions were heightened after the UFC announced a… interim title fight between Justin Gaethje and Pimblett in the absence of Ilia Topuria.

Tsarukyan, who has been the number one lightweight contender for more than a year, missed his title shot at UFC 311 due to a back injury. After the withdrawal, ‘Ahalkalakets’ became more important and was the official backup for UFC 317. He recently fought Dan Hooker and won by submission in round 2. However, Dana White has said that the Armenian fighter will have to do a lot more for a new title contender.

Pimblett has mocked Tsarukyan didn’t give the latter another title shot like he wanted a few times after the promotion. Recently, ‘The Baddy’ added more fuel to the fire in an interview with Carlos Contreras Legaspi. He went scorched earth on Tsarukyan:

“Arman is an idiot… He’s just talking a big game, and he’s trash. He dug his own grave and backed out of a title fight… He thinks because his dad is a millionaire he can pay his dues for stuff like this. That’s not how it works in the UFC. Sit down, shut up and do what you’re told.”

Arman Tsarukyan admits he has missed weight

In a viral video, Arman Tsarukyan is seen discussing his nutritionist. In the short clip, he acknowledges that he missed weight last time. However, ‘Ahalkalakets’ doesn’t say exactly for which fight:

“Our nutritionist is bull**it… This time he worked 100%. We didn’t miss any weight like last time.”

However, fans can assume he’s referring to UFC 311 as many previously predicted Arman Tsarukyan would retire before even stepping on the scale because he couldn’t make weight.
