Following the revelation that King Charles’ chickens live in Cluckingham Palace (‘I didn’t want to be diverted,’ says King Charles on campaign for the environment, January 28), we can proudly reveal that our flock of egg-laying ducks lives in Duckingham Palace. It has carved wooden duck silhouettes on the facades, wooden wine boxes for nesting and straw beds.

Instead of the French train company SNCF keeping some carriages child-free (Of course children can be annoying – but making public spaces ‘child-free’ is wrong, February 1), it could follow Deutsche Bahn and provide family carriages instead. Watching the women’s Australian Open final last weekend, I couldn’t help but smile at the broadcaster’s assurance that we were enjoying “ad-free coverage, courtesy of Rolex.” This, while Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina exchanged punches on a pitch plastered with Kia, Emirates, ANZ, Polo and Infosys logos.
