Chicago (August 2, 2025) – Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte (30-2-1, 23 Kos) took a massive step towards the position of the world title and earned a heavily fought majority decision victory Kenneth “Bossman” Sims Jr. (22-3-1, 8 Kos) in an exciting WBA Super Lightweight Title Eliminator at Chicagos Credit Union 1 Arena. The 12-round main event led a stacked night of fighting, broadcast live by Dazn in conjunction with Cancun boxing.

“I am very happy, it was a great fight, a war,” Duarte said after the victory. “I am very happy with this victory and I am very happy that I am closer to fight for a world title. Sims Jr. brought a lot of experience and had great conditioning. He was very prepared. I felt that I was very prepared and that I was talking about the rounds. Ready to stand out.”
For Kenneth Sims Jr.The result was hard to digest.
“I thought I won. It was a good fight, heavy fight, but I thought I won,” said Sims. “He put pressure on the way I expected. Retentionless pressure. It was nothing I did not expect. I mean, I could have sharp my defense. It was a good fight. He is a tough hunter … Absolutely (run it back). I want it immediately because I won that fight. It was a close fight, but I won it.
Co-Main Event: Prograis Outpoints Diaz in Gutsy Battle
In the Co-Main event, former world champion Regis “Roaded” program (30-3, 24 Kos) returned to winning ways and defeated fellow ex title holder Joseph “Jojo” Diaz (34-7, 15 Kos) via a unanimous decision. The Super Lightweight Showdown supplied 10 punishing action rounds.
Diaz suffered from circumcised over both eyes because of a headbump and exchanges, while Prograis was ruled to have slipped in round four. Yet both men went the distance and they showed grit at the level of championship. Judges scored the game 98-92” 96-94And 96-94 In favor of Prograis.
“It was like having the jitters in a fight, then you get hit with the first – and then it’s a fight,” said Prograis. “I knew it would be a fight with him … Jojo is a veteran. He is really tough and he came to fight … For me I want to become a champion again. I want the big money. Big money or a world championship – that is what I want afterwards.”
