The Orioles have announced that they have selected the Outfield -ProSpect contract Dylan Beavers From Triple-a Norfolk. In the corresponding movement, outfielder Greg Allen was designated for allocation to create space on both the 26-man and the 40-man schedules.
Beavers will make his MLB debut when he appears in a game, and he plans to regularly get playing time for a Baltimore team that is well out of battle. The promotion is a nice late birthday gift for Beavers, which became 24 earlier this week.
Selected 33rd in general in the design of 2022 and with the first choice of competitive Balance Round A, Beavers hit very well in his first two pro-seasons before taking a step back in 2024. He crushed Double-A Pitching in 2023 but placed more modest songs (.756 Ops about TRI-PAME-AA-AA-AA-oh-o
Beavers spent the entire season 2025 in Norfolk and got back on track in a large way, .304/.420/.515 with 18 gayers over 418 PA, and he has stolen 23 bases in 28 attempts. He missed a few weeks because of a shoulder disease, but it did not delay the beavers for a year that he has enormously increased his hard contact numbers and the running speed as he cut off his strikeouts. Beavers has only beaten 76 times this season, while he walks 68 times.
Beavers earned this increase in the 83rd place on the August -Basball America update of the Top 100 prospects list. MLB Pipeline has kept Beavers out of his top 100, but just like BA, Bevers also ranks as the third best prospect in the Orioles farming system. Both reconnaissance reports notice how Beavers has spent a large part of his professional career in turning his swing to gain more power and become more productive at high speed, and it seems that those swing adjustments are fruit. His solid speed and basic skill contributes to its attacking value as a stolen base threat. Defensively, Beavers is seen as a corner fan, with an opportunity to stay on the right due to an above -average throwing arm.
The specific timing of the promotion of Beavers is not surprising, because on August 16, Bevers means that beavers will spend less than 45 days on the MLB roster, and the Orioles will certainly make it a point to keep him below 130 AT-Bat threshold. This means that Bevers are eligible for his Rookie in 2026, and that is why he could remain eligible for the status of prospect promotion promotion, assuming that he makes at least two of the top 100 of the top 100 of Baseball America, Pipeline or Espn.com. Eligible PPI-smokies can provide an additional concept choice for their teams, if they are eligible for a full year of service time and then win Rookie or The Year Honors or include a top-three finish in MVP votes or Cy Young Award voices during their pre-arbitration years.
Late season callups of top perspectives have long been part of baseball, although the PPI system has now placed something of a specific timeline on how teams approach some promotions of their best small leaders. Earlier this week, GM Mike Elias more or less admitted that the PPI rules were a factor in the plans of the Orioles for Bevers and Top perspective Samuel BasalloSo it would be no surprise if Basallo would also make his MLB debut before the 2025 season is over.
All signed at the Os just on August 8, because the team needed some fast depth because of a wave of outfield injuries. Allen’s seven games with Baltimore marked his first playing time of the big league since the 2023 season, although it was a rather shame because he did not reach one of his 14 record performances. Before he came to the Orioles, all played for the Triple-A branch of the Cubs and hit .270/.355/.440 over 231 PA.
All, a veteran of eight MLB seasons, is known for his speed and his ability to play all three outfield positions, although he has never produced much in the dish. He is no longer a minor League options, and because he has been in his career earlier, he may have the opportunity to choose free agency if he knew exemptions. It is possible that a team that needs the depth of the Outfield, can all bring a board to an exemption claim, but it seems more likely that he will enter a free agency and landed on a minors contract elsewhere.
