The Orioles have designated an more infielder Vavra For assignment, according to a team announcement. The movement makes room on the active schedule for the first baseman Ryan NodaWho the club agreed yesterday of the White Sox.
Vavra, 28, was a third-rounder selected by the Rockies in 2018. He was treated as part of the Orioles prior to his debut of the Orioles on the Orioles as part of the Mychal Givens Exchange in 2020 and then made his main class debut two years later. In 40 games with Baltimore that year, Vavra impressed with an approximately competition average .258/.340/.337 Slash line while playing both second base and outfield. Vavra broke the camp with the Orioles in 2023 but made it only 27 games and hit badly in 56 plate performances before it was suspended due to a shoulder stem. That shoulder injury finally turned out to be a Labrum Teacher and Vavra underwent an operation to repair his shoulder in September 2023.
Vavra has not appeared in the Majors since. He returned to the Triple-A level at the Triple-A level early last year, but was claimed by the Mariners in the summer. However, he did not make a big league with Seattle, and was finally in September in the 40-man Roster of the club before he was again signed with the Orioles for a Minor League deal. He was selected twice in the active schedule this season, but has still not appeared in the Majors in one of those call-ups. Vavra’s work in 59 competitions with Triple-A Norfolk, however, left something to be desired this year, because he posted a gloomy .247/.354/.341 oblique line over 203 trips on the record.
If Vavra is not claimed remotely, he can either accept an outright assignment and return to Norfolk or choose a free agency and qualify to sign with one of the 30 clubs of the competition. Vavra’s departure from the schedule makes room for Noda, which was picked from the White Sox yesterday. The 29-year-old was a rule 5-pick through the A’s Back in 2023 and impressed more than 128 competitions, in which he .229/.364/.409 with 39 extra basehits and a walking speed of 15.6% over 495 trips to the plate. Since then, he has only hit 52 games, but with Ryan O’Hearn Now buried in San Diego and the Orioles in the rankings at this point, Baltimore has little to lose by giving Noda a chance as a Lefty Bench Bat who can hang in at first base and in the outfield, a role that was similar to that O’Hear before he was pronounced with the club in 2023.
