India defeated Pakistan three times in this edition of the Asia Cup. First in the group phase games, then in the super-4 phases, and now finally in the final of the competition. This marks the second victory of Gautam Gambhir after the ICC Champions Trophy title in 2025.

Although Sanju Samson contributed considerably to a healthy partnership in the middle phase, it was Shivam Dube that helped score some fast runs at the back. The winning runs came from Rinku Singh’s bat, who received only one delivery throughout the Asia Cup 2025.

India has been crowned the champions of the Asia Cup for the 9th time in the history of the continental championship. Suryakumar Yadav wins his first title in the Asia Cup and would therefore be cited as the captain of the World Cup 2026 ICC T20.
This is the 9th title of India, because they defended their title from 2023. India had defeated Sri Lanka at the time, and now they have defeated Pakistan in an Asia Cup final.
