Fans of Liverpool are very enthusiastic about this theme of Alexander Isak ‘Hostage’.
The idea that Newcastle United is the bad guys in all this mess.
Fans of Liverpool demand the ‘release’ of Alexander Isak.
Newcastle United holds the striker against his will and should definitely just do the decent thing and let him go.
Then you have the reality.
Liverpool fans miss a few important points.
What they demand, the ‘release’ of Alexander Isak, would only make sense if all other parties had done everything they could try to get ‘the hostage’ free.
These small uncomfortable points….
Liverpool makes a formal range of £ 150 million to meet the Newcastle United valuation.
Alexander Isak sets a written transfer request that would mean that if a transfer would happen, he would give up a large piece of ‘loyalty’ money that is normally paid when a player is sold.
The reality …
What actually happened is a fairly formal offer of £ 110 million made by Liverpool.
No written transfer request from Alexander Isak, willing to give up a large part of the money to get his dream movement done.
A lot of nonsense in the media, partly fed to journalists by Liverpool himself, partly only Liverpool -loving journalists who do their thing.
That’s it.
What should happen now?
With only 16 days to go until the transfer window is closed, I cannot imagine that Newcastle United now sells Alexander Isak in the remaining time. I would be amazed.
For Liverpool fans and their club (and Alexander Isak), however, have some credibility with this poor Alexander Isak against his will story. Then the United Striker and Liverpool must exhaust all roads before they claim that this is simply not fair.
Which means that Liverpool has to make a credible offer and Alexander Isak must make the written transfer request in which his willingness shows to give a large piece of money.
Eleven weeks now since the summer transfer window has been open and we are still waiting for one of these things that happen.
