Will Conor McGregor finally meet a hunter with whom he never got the chance to share the Octagon?
McGregor is determined to secure a place on the planned map of the UFC in the White House. Although many wondered whether the ‘notorious’ push for the office in Ireland would hinder that plan, McGregor recently announced that he is no longer in the running. He is now free to concentrate on his training if he wants to do that.
UFC CEO Dana White appeared on the “impaulsive” podcast of Logan Paul and insisted that McGregor is serious to fight in the White House. If that is indeed the case, Michael Chandler will again let it be known that he still wants the fight.
In an interview with Damon Martin for Mmafighting.comChandler said he is convinced that he will finally get his chance to compete against McGregor.
“I think we are now closer than we have ever been,” said Chandler. “I have always said that if you are a gokman, no money has to do for him, necessarily returns, but now this things are changing a lot.
“In my heart of hearts I think I am fighting against Conor McGregor in the White House and that is certainly very logical for various reasons.”
McGregor and Chandler would collide at UFC 303 in June 2024. A toe injury prevented McGregor prevented from fight. Since July 2021, the ‘notorious’ has no longer participated in a Pro MMA fight when he broke his leg in a trilogy collision with Dustin Poirier. White has said that McGregor is currently in the drug test pool.
Chandler has gone 0-2 since the McGregor fight fell apart. He dropped a unanimous decision to Charles Oliveira and then suffered a TKO loss of the third round from Paddy Pimblett. Yet the name recognition of Chandler and the exciting fighting style may be a perfect match for McGregor.
