Olympic gold medal wrestler Gable Steveson continues to turn heads in his young MMA career.
The 25-year-old heavyweight entered the cage for a second time on Sunday as part of the makeshift main event of Anthony Pettis FC 21. Steveson headlined a previously top-ranked title fight and was paired with Kevin Hein, a 2-1 heavyweight to start the night with an undefeated amateur record.
Steveson, incorrectly billed as Stevenson during the APFC 21 broadcast, didn’t take long to get the job done. In just 24 seconds, he clobbered Hein with his left hand, seamlessly transitioned into a takedown and then added another ground strike to seal the deal.
Hein honestly looked out of sorts after the first punch, but Steveson showed some killer instincts in the series.

With the win, Gable Steveson is now 2-0 as a mixed martial artist. The 2020 Olympic gold medalist (freestyle wrestling) previously trained for a professional wrestling career with the WWE and is now teaming up with UFC legend Jon Jones.
In addition to MMA, Steveson scored a victory over Billy Swanson at a Dirty Boxing event in late October, less than a month before his MMA return. The American wrestler has spoken out a desire to compete on the UFC’s White House cardwhich is expected to arrive next June. Of course, he must first earn a UFC contract, which performances like Sunday’s will undoubtedly help secure.
