Mike Maignan has put pen to paper on a new contract.
At the end of last season it seemed certain that Maignan would leave Milan when his contract expires in 2026, but a lot has changed since then. The arrival of Max Allegri and his staff, as well as that of Igli Tare, has completely changed the opinion of Mike, who now remains.
Maignan has captained the Rossoneri since the departure of Davide Calabria last January, and has been a standout player for the Diavolo this season, making numerous saves.
Milan and Maignan’s agent re-negotiated an extension and agreed a deal worth a reported €5 million + €2 million in bonuses per year. Today, after weeks of talks, Maignan went to Casa Milan to sign the new deal.
“Milan is pleased to announce the extension of Mike Maignan’s contract until June 30, 2031,” reads a statement.
“After joining the Rossoneri in the summer of 2021, Mike quickly developed into one of the team’s key figures, standing out for his leadership, reliability and selfless attitude. His constant growth saw him become Club Captain and a central presence within the squad, as well as a pillar for the French national team.”

“Maignan, who has made 188 appearances for AC Milan, played a crucial role in the club’s Scudetto triumph in 2021/22 and Supercoppa Italiana victory in 2024. These achievements reflect a personal journey built over time through dedication, responsibility and a deep sense of connection to the Rossoneri colours. On an individual level, he was named the best Serie A goalkeeper for the season 2021/22.”
“Milan and Mike Maignan are now further strengthening their bond, with the shared goal of continuing to write new chapters in the club’s history together.”
