Sven Botman has signed a new long-term contract with Newcastle United.
An official statement on Monday evening making the news public.
Eddie Howe signed Sven Botman for a transfer fee of £35 million in the summer of 2022 and he has proven to be a great signing.
The Dutch defender has had terrible luck with injuries at times, but is now hopefully ready to put all that behind him. He will be back in the team this weekend and fingers crossed he can build a long period of availability.
In 2022, it was reported that it would be a five-year contract for Sven Botman, lasting until the end of June 2027.
The club said today that the new contract will continue for three years, until the end of June 2030.
Sven Botman speaking after the announcement of the new contract: “I am very happy to sign this contract. This club has given me so much over the past three and a half years.”

Sven Botman continues: “I have grown here as a person and as a player and I feel that I have so much more to give in the long term. That is why both parties are very happy with this decision and I look forward to what will happen here in the future.”
As for Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle United: “We are delighted that Sven has committed his long-term future to the club. He has been an excellent player for us since he joined and I am confident there is more to come from him. Sven has a strong mentality and work ethic, which is evident every time he trains or plays. We value his presence on and off the pitch and I am very pleased to see his long-term future secured here.”
