NY Rangers Game 22 Open Thread: Rangers in Colorado

The Rangers have played Detroit twice in a row at home and most recently in Vegas. Now they have a tall task to beat the best Colorado Avalanche in the league. It feels like the Avs are scoring 11 goals per game, and while that’s an exaggeration, they’re certainly capable of such an offensive outburst, especially if their opponent sends it in for the night. The Rangers didn’t send it (at least not full games). Effort is not the problem. It’s execution. I’ll leave it to you to decide which is worse.

The Rangers have new lines, shaking up the top six and moving Alexis Lafreniere to Mika Zibanejad’s line, replacing JT Miller, who moves to Laf’s spot along with Vincent Trocheck. There are also conflicts over Will Borgen’s availability, as he played on some beats but also had Scott Morrow on the power play.
