Nvidia shares rise more than 3% ahead of third-quarter earnings. This is what you can expect

Nvidia stock will likely be in the spotlight when trading resumes on Wall Street today. The world’s most valuable company by market capitalization will announce its third-quarter results. According to analyst estimates, the company’s revenue rose 56% to $54.92 billion in the August-October quarter. The estimate was reported by Reuters, citing LSEG data.

“It appears that Nvidia’s share price is priced for perfection, so demand for GPUs must continue to grow strongly for many years to come before the share price remains high,” Reuters said, quoting Wong Kok Hoi, founder and CEO of APS Asset Management in Singapore.Nvidia shares rose 3.6% to reach an early intraday high of $187.85, a gain of $6.5 from the last close.

Ross Maxwell, Global Strategy Lead at VT Markets, told ETMarkets that estimates show revenue and earnings per share will remain strong. While the market’s focus is on AI and a potential bubble, investors will be keeping a close eye on Nvidia’s earnings numbers. He added that some believe the easy growth phase is now over.

“Much of the good news can be priced in, as while growth is still strong, it will be relatively modest compared to recent earnings numbers. While a share price rise could cause some upside, the market will be much more sensitive to a miss or even softer expectations, which poses greater downside risk for a potential pullback,” Maxwell said.“Given the current positive correlation between stocks and the dollar (perhaps reflecting renewed concerns about a tech/AI-specific correction hitting the broader US economy), a bad earnings report tonight could make the dollar weaker,” said MUFG strategist Lee Hardman. He added that the focus would then likely quickly shift to Thursday’s delayed U.S. employment data.Nvidia Q3 earnings timing

Nvidia will hold a conference call today at 2:00 PM PT (12:30 PM India time) to discuss its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2026 ended October 26, 2025.

Ahead of the call, Nvidia will provide written commentary on its third-quarter results from Colette Kress, the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer. This material will be posted on investor.nvidia.com immediately after the company’s results are publicly announced at approximately 1:20 PM PT.

What should investors do?

Investors should look to see whether Nvidia can maintain high margins, maintain strong demand for AI capex and avoid any export or China-related headwinds, Maxwell suggested.

His advice to investors is to reduce large directional exposure or hedging before the IPO and then reassess once the numbers and commentary are out. “If the long-term view is still bullish, use any post-earnings dip as a potential entry rather than buying right before the earnings event,” the VT Markets analyst said.
