NSE appoints former IFSCA chairman Injeti Srinivas as director of public interest

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has appointed Injeti Srinivas, former chairman of the International Financial Services CENTERS Authority (IFSCA), as director of the public interest in its board.

According to sources, Srinivas can also be considered for the function of NSE chairman, depending on the approval of the Markets Regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi).

Srinivas, an IAS officer from 1983-Batch of the ODISHA framework, joined the NSE board on Tuesday, showed an update with the Exchange website.

He previously served as secretary of business affairs and was the founders of IFSCA, where he played a key role in institutional reforms, management improvement and systemic policy innovation.

Srinivas has more than four decades of experience in business and financial regulations, industrial promotion, law and insolvency legislation, competition law, chartered accountancy, cost accountancy, business secretary laws, public policy and international cooperation.

In addition to Srinivas, the NSE -Council includes various other public interests such as Abhilasha Kumari, retired chief judge of the Supreme Court of Manipur and former judicial member of the Lokpal van India; Mamata Biswal, professor of Law and ICSR Senior Research Fellow at GNLU; S. Sudarshan, professor of Iit Bombay; S. Ravindran, former executive director at Sebi; and Rajesh Gopinathan, former MD and CEO of Tata Consultancy Services.
