Now updated – The top goalscorers of the 2025/26 Champions League make for interesting reading

UEFA has updated the list of top scorers in the 2025/26 Champions League.

This follows the conclusion of the midweek competitions.

Nine more games of the third round will follow on Thursday, after Newcastle 3 Benfica 0 was one of the nine on Tuesday.

A number of NUFC players are high on the Champions League scoring charts.

UEFA are also updating their list when it comes to players with the most assists so far in the Champions League, another United player ranking high on the list.

Early days of course, but some great contributions from Newcastle United so far.

Most goals in the 2025/26 Champions League

5 Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid)
5 Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
4 Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United)
4 Erling Haaland (Man City)
4 Marcus Rashford (Barcelona)
3 Harvey Barnes (Newcastle United)
3 Fermin López (Barcelona)
3 Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)
3 Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan)
3 Victor Osmihen (Galatasaray)
3 Gorka Cruzeta (Athletic Bilbao)
3 Igor Paixao (Marseille)
3 Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund)

As you can see, only Mbappe and Kane have the edge over Anthony Gordon as things stand.

However, Harvey Barnes is also interesting.

The super sub has come off the bench in the three Champions League games so far and in his 72 minutes on the pitch, Barnes has scored three goals, an average of one every 24 minutes!

Most assists in the 2025/26 Champions League

3 Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)
2 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Marseille)
2 Jacob Murphy (Newcastle United) and several others on two assists, including…
2 Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund)
2 Julián Alvarez (Aleti)
2 Bradley Barcola (Paris)
2 Hakan Çalhanoğlu (Inter)
2 Café is a frinepe (hon)
2 Håkon Evjen (Bodø/Glimt)
2 Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund)
2 Judge of Achraf (Paris)
2 Nicolas Jackson (Bayern Munich)
2 Nuno Mendes (Paris)
2 Lukáš Provod (Slavia Prague)
2 Guus To (PSV)

Just like against Barcelona at St James’ Park, Jacob Murphy set up Anthony Gordon to score against Benfica.

Special mention of course also goes to Nick Pope, only one assist in the Champions League (so far…) BUT what an assist!!
