For the second time in Elite League competition, the Nottingham Panthers scored more than four goals in the Guildford spectrum while beating 6-1 with 6-1 on Wednesday evening to go to the top of the table.
“Tonight was a great evening – we came in and wanted to play good team hockey, and that is what we did,” said the current Panther and former Flame Bryan Lemos. “We tried to build the weekend and we take steps every day.”
The parties exchanged the opportunities early, because both teams had opportunities to open the score. Tyler Preziuso and Matt Spencer were refused 1-on-0 by Jason Grande and Taz Burman respectively. The Panthers thought they had gone at 3:56 PM with a well-processed PowerPlay goal, but after it was initially called on the ice, it was rinsed on assessment because it was just before the shot-which means that it was not an immediate score.
Three minutes later, the visitors took the lead when Lemos baked through Burman with Burman in the period with 63 seconds.
Chase Pearson founded Brendan Harris, who was only on the distant post, to double the lead for less than 90 seconds in period two. What became in a nightmare for the hosts for the hosts got worse when a bad turnover left the puck on the stick of Mitch fossier to shoot home at 27:21. Lemos then saw his shot from the point by Burman ticked to set the Panthers four just past 30 minutes. Between those goals, Matt Marcinew saw a puck bouncing awkwardly over his stick to pamper a penalty shot attempt.

“I think we were just not ready to play today, and regardless of who we play in this competition, it will not go our way,” Flames Forward Matthieu Gosselin admitted. “We have to be better.”
Justin Fazio, who replaced Burman in the network of the Flames for the third period, produced an excellent salvation to deny Brendan Harris while he came in through the home defense. The flames went straight to the ice and received their first of the game and neat resignation from Jack Jacome that Gosselin set up for a shot in an open cage.
“We have to play better to be honest,” Gosselin added prior to visiting Nottingham this weekend. “We have to go back to how we were playing when we defeated them at home during the opening weekend.”
Marcus Tesink was ejected for an entry call at Josh Tetlow, and PearSPassen saved on the resulting PowerPlay -Passenon for his second of the game. That ended the score, where the Panthers looked comfortably for the rest of the match.
Later, Tyler Busch and Zsombor GarĂ¡t drop the gloves and got fighting Majors.
“Our criminal murder has been incredible and that is a large part of the game,” added Lemos, whose side was 100% at the kill through the night. “Saturday (against the Flames in Nottingham) is another hockey game – we know what to do and must keep trying to do it.”
