“Nothing personal”: Qatar PM rejects concern about Trump Jet Gift offer

The offer of Qatar to donate a luxury jet to the United States was not a personal gift to President Donald Trump, but a “government-to-government transaction,” said the Prime Minister of the Golf Nation Wednesday.

Trump, whose journey in the middle east included a stop on Wednesday in Qatar, confronted at home with a stir, because press releases revealed that he was considering using the Jet as Air Force One – and may continue to use it after leaving the office.

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-thani tried to worry and told CNN in an interview that he did not know why it had become so big news.

“It is a transaction with the government to government. It has nothing to do with staff, whether on the American side or on the Qatarese side, it is the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense,” he said, following the reaction of the White House to the recoil.

He also rejected accusations that Qatar used the gift as a way to influence Trump, and said it would rather try to solve the problems of his ally of the American ally.

“Qatar has always been a reliable partner for the US, has always been performed to help and support the US, because we believe that this friendship should be for both countries for both countries cannot be a one -way relationship,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

He added that the offer was in any case ‘still under the legal assessment’.

Trump has repeatedly complained about delays and cost overruns in the contract of space giant Boeing to offer two new Air Force One -Jets to replace the current aging models.

Under the interrogation of reporters on Monday, Trump angry the regulation with Qatar and said that he would be “stupid” not to accept such a gift.

But the plan has asked major ethical questions because the American Constitution forbids government officials from accepting gifts “of every king, prince or foreign state.”

It has also led deep safety problems about the use of an aircraft donated by a foreign force for use such as the ultra-sensitive Air Force One. The Jet is designed to serve as a mobile command center for the president in the case of an attack on America.
