No normal coffee sent three tubes of their coffee paste for assessment. After testing, I think it is useful.
Slightly thicker in texture and stickier than a toothpaste, No normal coffee To be honest, it looks dirty. However, it smells of coffee, tastes like coffee and makes a decent cup.
No normal coffee Comes in different flavors, including classic black and sweet black. I received the dark roast.
Ingredients for the pasta include coffee extract, beet sugar, ground coffee and thickeners (Xanthan Gum, Gum Arabic). As smooth as the pasta looks, I was surprised to find trace quantities of land in the bottom of my cup, as I would do with my house drop of coffee maker.
I used No normal coffee Both for hot coffee and for ice. In both cases I thought it made a perfectly usable cup. For what it is worth, I added sweetened oat milk to my coffee. If you drink yours in black, or with another additive, your results can vary.
No normal coffee Is not as good as that made of whole beans made in my Cuisinart machine, but as far as I’m concerned it is a huge improvement compared to direct dried. If my choice is immediately dried or just water, I would go with just water.
The recipe for No normal coffee is to dissolve 1 teaspoon in 3.5 ONS water. I suppose you could use more or less water or pasta to vary the strength. Hot water works best, but even then I discovered that quite a bit of rudder is needed to solve the pasta properly. When making ice coffee, I have to transfer the coffee between two mugs several times to ensure that I remove all the pasta from the bottom of the cup.
However, Iced Coffee is my preferred use for the pasta. When I try to make a quick cup of ice coffee from our cuisinart, it is quite weakened from the ice that I have to throw in the mug. Starting of cold water with No normal coffee Gives me a leg there.
I also tried it No normal coffee Like a spread. Once. Never again. It reminded me of the experience I had with Vegemite that an Aussie took to the university in West Virginia.
To be honest, however, I can easily imagine that some people would like it.
I enjoyed a travel mug ice No normal coffee On my round today and after I had ended the content, I thought that if I had a tube with me, I could fill the mug (who still had ice cream) at one of the course water coolers and mix a new drink.
That corresponds to what is probably best for these tubes: camping. When I was in scouts, my father and the other scoutmasters had a large percolator that was designed for wood fires. They let it go all day. With reflection I am not sure how they ever went to sleep. With a tube of No normal coffeeModern campers do not need the extra weight of the percolator. It can simply heat water in a utility jar and mix coffee, along with their dried rations.
No normal coffee Is definitely a niche product, but in the right circumstances it works.
