No NHLPA Nagging Need

After the NHLPA left on their little tirade about how the five players accused of sexual violence during their time at Hockey Canada, they were treated unfairly by the NHL who did not eligible them to play in the competition, there was some main shake that was done because the only player who had a regular Flynet work to have in the Nhl. I can understand the NHLPA that argues for the other four players when it came to compete for NHL jobs, but it is not like one of those players was on the door to make an NHL schedule. As it looks now, the only player who regularly played in Europe will do this again, so that NHLPA is anything but disputed, because he has now been contracted in Switzerland until December to play in Switzerland.

The 25-year-old Alex Forenton returned to the Swiss club for whom he played before the Hockey Canada process started in London and signed a deal with the HC Ambrium-Piotta from the National League until the end of December to the end of December with an option to expand the contract until the end of the season. It is hard to imagine that he will be welcomed to the NHL, but there may be a team that wants him.

Of course, the NHL rights of Forenton are still in the hands of the Ottawa senators who have made him a qualifying offer when he became after the 2021-22 of 2021-22 season, but Forenton chose not to sign that deal and eventually land in Switzerland for the 2022-13 season to play with Ambrì-Piotta. Since that time, Forenton has played 48 games for the Swiss club, with 20 goals and nine assists. He was also part of the 2022 Spengler Cup-winning Ambrtern-Piotta team.

With Foreenton who hits the ice for the previous season action with Ambrì-Piotta this month, there is a good chance that he will cover his bets that the NHL and NHLPA will be an agreement to leave him and the other four players and the other four players found “not guilty” to earn their efforts to earn a NHL roster. If that happens before 1 January, the agent of Foreenton will probably want to talk to the senators about a contract or that his rights will be traded. Anyway, it seems that if the NHL objects to these five players who are part of their membership, forenton could use the first half of the National League season as a springboard back to an NHL job.

Personally I am fine if he chooses to stay in Switzerland. The less I have to hear about Alex Forenton and his hockey career is a path that I am looking for, and I hope that Ambrì-Piotta and their fans are comfortable with the fact that Alex Forenton was still in that hotel room in London, ontario where the alleged sexual attack took place. Yes, he was found “not guilty” on the claimed crimes, but that does not mean that he was not in the Chamber, was not a witness of and was not part of the alleged crimes that took place. If they can live with that, it seems that they have a productive attacker in their selection this season until December.

At the end of the day I am not sure if there is an NHL team that is desperate on the skills of Alex Forenton, so I predict that he will remain in Switzerland until the end of the season. There is a chance that he could be signed or traded next summer if he has a great season with Ambrì-Piotta, but I don’t see NHL team that offers assets to Ottawa to negotiate with Foreenton, nor do I see the NHL opening the doors for the five men they have ruled without a serious pressure. As we saw with Joel Quenneville, the NHL seemed very unmotivated to recover, so let’s just wait.

The NHLPA can continue to collaborate with the NHL to try to make these five men eligible to play for one of the member teams, but I should not hear a Peep about having a “chance to work” because Alex Forenton proves that he can work without access to the NHL. And if that fails, he might go Back to working construction Because, as I have repeatedly said on this blog, to be paid to play hockey if a career is a privilege, no right.

Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
