NLC India signs a joint venture with PTC for a green energy project

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), has signed a joint venture agreement with PTC India (formerly Power Trading Corporation) in Neyveli. PTC India is an energy trading solutions provider.

This follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between NIRL and PTC India earlier in September.

The collaboration will work on the development of green energy capacity up to 2000 MW, to be implemented in phases. The first phase will focus on approximately 500 MW.

The joint venture between PTC India Limited and NLCIL was established to establish, operate and maintain renewable energy projects including solar, wind, hydro, battery energy storage systems, green ammonia and other emerging green technologies.

“The new JVC will enable both organizations to join forces in the areas of project development, energy trading, creating sustainable energy parks and integrated green energy solutions,” the NLC statement said. The JVC will sell power through competitive and regulated routes, targeting a mix of DISCOMs, government agencies and commercial and industrial consumers, the company added.

In addition, NLC India also received a letter of acceptance from National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC) for setting up 110 MW (AC) grid-connected solar projects in Uttar Pradesh under captive mode.

The LOA covers setting up 110 MW (AC) grid-connected solar power projects in Uttar Pradesh. As per the terms, the supply of power generated by the above project under PPA will be for a period of 25 (twenty-five) years.
