Nissan Gravite Launch: Check Expected Price, Engine, Features, Seats & More

Nissan is gearing up to launch its new 7-seater Gravite in India, targeting the sub-4 meter MPV segment, which remains popular among large families, ride-share operators and road trip enthusiasts looking for space without the cost of a full-size SUV. The Gravite is designed to take advantage of Indian tax rules, which favor vehicles less than four meters in length, allowing for competitive pricing and three-row seating. Built on the CMF-A platform shared with Renault Triber, the Gravite gets a distinctive Nissan design, including a distinctive grille, new headlights and revised bumpers, aligned with the brand’s global styling.

Estimates suggest a starting price of around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom), with top variants possibly reaching Rs 12-15 lakh, placing the Gravite between premium hatchbacks and larger MPVs.

The car is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that produces around 71 PS and 96 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox. A turbocharged petrol version may be introduced later for highway performance.

Practical features are expected to include an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, air vents for all three rows of seats, a digital instrument display and a modular seat layout for flexible luggage and passenger configurations.

Market space

The Gravite will compete directly with the Renault Triber while appealing to buyers who would otherwise consider the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga or Kia Carens. Nissan aims to offer maximum space, flexibility and value at an accessible price point, marking a renewed focus on the Indian mass market segment and family buyers.
