Nick Kyrgios reveals a stunning plan to hold ‘Battle of the Sexes’ tennis match against World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka

Nick Kyrgios has revealed that he and three -time Grand Slam champion Aryna Sabalenka are planning to organize a Battle of the Sexes exhibition match this year -with two important rule changes to make the collision more difficult for him.

Kyrgios, a finalist and pronounced commentator from Wimbledon Heren, has waved fans about his plans to hire the World No.1 female player.

“Sabalenka and I am thinking about a struggle to do the sexes later in the year,” he said Talk sports.

‘Where the court will be slightly smaller [at Sabalenka’s end]For me with one serve …

“I play on slightly smaller than the usual tennis court.”

The Australian said that the competition, inspired by the notorious ‘Battle of the Sexes’ tennis match of 1973 between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, will probably take place later in the year in Hong Kong.

“I’m really nervous about it, to be honest, she is now in her absolute prime,” he said.

‘And she gets the wooden legs [version] From me – but I am still confident that I can get her.

“I think I still have enough variation and talent in the tank to take Sabalenka, but she is fierce and I now feel nerves.”

The original match ‘Battle of the Sexes’ in 1973, was one of the largest media events of his time and King’s impressive victory was generally credited by beating an impressive blow to the women’s liberation movement.

Although it was 55 at the time, retired tennis champion Bobby Riggs was expected to beat Billie Jean King comfortably, then 29 and the world’s number 2 female player.

Four months earlier, Riggs had easily sent the Margaret Court for women.

Instead, Riggs 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 lost to King for a stunned audience of 30,472 fans in the Houston Astrodome.

It is still the biggest crowd to ever attend a tennis match in the US and watched millions more on TV.

The result was repeatedly chased by claims that it was resolved or the result was thrown, something that Riggs repeatedly denied until his death in 1995.

Sabalenka, 27, is an intense competitor and one of the most expressive players in the game. But Kyrgios says she’s very different from the field.

‘When she is on the field, she is incredibly intense, she is bright, she has a big game. She is almost scary, “he said.

“But she is gentle outside the field. She came on my podcast and I really got to know at a human level and contact her and she is really funny, she is nice and she told me that she wanted to change that perception.

‘People thought she was always like this on the field, but she is actually wonderful outside the field. I was very lucky to even have a chat with some of these players and she is one of the best players in the world and I am so much of why you listen to the questions I give you! ‘
