Jimmy Murphy: “It looks like Doug Armstrong is listening in now. I don’t know if saying it all is an exaggeration, but he’s listening to a lot of players right now. The biggest surprise we’re hearing though, in my opinion, is that he would be willing to even listen to Robert Thomas. How realistic is that at this point?”

Strickland: “I don’t know. I mean, listen, if you know Doug Armstrong, he’s not talking to a lot of the people that are putting out this news. It’s like a lot of people are coming up with different ideas and theories, and I understand that.”
Who are the strongest players, which position is the hardest to find in the National Hockey League?
Pierre McGuire: “Right defense and center.
Strickland: “Proper defense and center. Okay, so the Blues aren’t very dynamic at the center position. He’s the only dynamic center they really have. I mean, they have other good centers. Pius Suter is a good center. Brayden Schenn is a good center. But they wouldn’t be classified as dynamic offensive players.”
Especially at this stage of Schenn’s career. I mean, he can still produce and be very effective. I like Schenner as a player. And Puis Suter is a great fit here in St. Louis. Not the biggest guy, but you know, he scores a lot of goals around the blue paint. Really respect his game.
So if you want to get rid of Robert Thomas, someone better come the other way and fill that void. Because he is your main focal point. He may not be the central player on every team, but he’s damn good.

And Blues want to add centers. You know, they want defenders. They want centers. They have enough wingers now. If you look at the team, they need to add a center iceman. And the best way to do that is not to move Robert Thomas. So again, everyone could be moved if the right players come the other way.”
