“Okay, Vancouver. It was reported this week. Tyler Myers, he’s considering a trade offer with Detroit. Myers has a no move, a no trade clause. I have a lot of sympathy for Myers and his family situation. As we speak tonight, I think that offer is still on the table. I think everyone was hoping there would be a decision on Monday. I just don’t know where it stands right now.
I also don’t believe Vancouver has a solid alternative offer for Myers now that we’re doing this. So I think they’re thinking about it, I think they’re talking to teams, but I don’t feel like anything else is set in stone at this point. So we’ll see on Monday.
NHL Rumors: Lots of changes coming to Vancouver
Pettersson, I’ve been looking around. I think things are quiet around him right now, Ron, but all I’ve heard about Patterson is that the Canucks aren’t interested in keeping him. I think they’ve been asked, and I’ve heard they don’t want to do that. I heard it’s pretty quiet around him from tonight onwards. Famous last words.
The Buffalo Sabers will likely retain Alec Tuch after the deadline, even without an extension
Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast – NHL Trade Deadline: On an episode of Buyer’s Market, it was said that the Buffalo Sabers are not a seller. Alex Tuk is a pending UFA, and while it’s possible they could lose him for nothing, believe he’ll stay with the Sabers even without an extension.

“I wanted to mention Alex Tuch. Buffalo is not a seller. They’re going for it. Again, I could make myself look really bad here, but the bet on Tuch is that he stays in Buffalo next week, whether there’s an extension or not.”
Even if they don’t sign him, and I suspect at this point they won’t, I think he’ll stay. And don’t forget that (Sabers GM) Jarmo Kekalainen has been in this position before. When Columbus won their first-ever playoff series between Tampa, they had a bunch of UFAs and Jarmo was in a position where all he said was, “You know what? Yes, Columbus has never won a series. We’re going for it. And when we lose guys, we lose guys.”
NHL Rumors: The Latest on the Buffalo Sabers and Alex Tuch
And that’s what they did. And so he understands this. He knows how to handle it, and I think he’ll do the same in Buffalo. So as I pick up this pod late Thursday night and Friday morning, I’m betting Kyle stays, and even if he doesn’t have an extension, which he probably won’t next week. Again, things may change, but that is my decision now.”
