Marco D’Amico from Ratings: The Utah Mammoth are looking to add another top-six forward to strengthen their offense.
Sources say they have destroyed Nazem Kadri and some of the best centers potentially available. Elias Pettersson and Robert Thomas are two others they could look at.
A source added that they might not want to move Tij Iginla, Danil But or any of their other previous first-round picks unless it’s a monster deal. Teams will also ask about Cole Beaudoin, Maveric Lamoureux and their 2026 first-round pick. Caleb Desnoyers is fourth overall and is having a good year in the QMJHL.

You know, there’s a world because of what I said: Bobby McMann is getting a bigger return from the Leafs than some people might think just because he literally only makes $1.3 million. They can, they have retention spots, so they can drop that below the league minimum salary this year if they want to.
You know, even a player like Scott Laughton, who is pending UFA. The Leafs, he’s already been reduced to $1.5 million in the original deal with Philly. He can be cut in half again.
So they can get some pretty low hits on their players and Laughton plays center, and he’s having a pretty good year since he’s been healthy. And you know, let’s be honest, a lot of the deadline ends up being bottom six/depth defenseman.
McKenzie: “Those are the people you need,
Johnston: “Right, that’s what the best teams often want, like they already have the best pieces in place, they usually want to expand their lineup, maybe even lower.
