The Maple Leafs were on Mason Marchment’s no-trade list
NHL Rumors Report: About Mason Marchment on the FAN Hockey Show on December 23rd.
Mike Futa: “I heard he had a no-move clause regarding Toronto.”
Elliotte Friedman: “I believe that’s true. He has a partial no-trade. I heard Columbus wasn’t there, he didn’t have to opt out of going there.”
NHL Rumors: Could Morgan Rielly’s name resurface if things continue to go sideways
The Winnipeg Jets’ problems run deeper than one trade can solve
Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press: The Winnipeg Jets continue to struggle and are on the outside looking in. There were reports that they kicked tires on Mason Marchment before he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a second and fourth. If they continue to fall, a top pick in this year’s draft wouldn’t hurt.
It doesn’t seem like there is one trade that could solve this team’s problems, as their problems run deeper. The Jets may be better off as sellers and buyers and can recoup some assets from previous years.
The Jets have a number of players in the AHL who could get a better shot at the main roster: Brad Lambert, Nikita Chibrikov, Parker Ford and Elias Salomonsson.
