Reporter: “And this happened probably 10 minutes before you got to warm-ups. You probably haven’t heard about it yet, but on Hockey Night in Canada there was a report that your name came up in trade talks between the Canucks and New Jersey. That’s obviously a big (inaudible) for Canucks fans. I know I’m putting you on the spot, but you have some reaction to those kinds of rumors.”
Hughes: “I mean, no. I mean, I do what I can, like you said, I’m on the ice. It wasn’t like if there was a call, Jim and Fitzy jumped on the call. You know, I wasn’t part of that. But obviously I’m aware that things like that can happen. For sure.”

Reporter: “Your teammates have been dealing with quite a few rumors like this over the last two weeks, but it would be new to kind of have your name in there. Are you hoping that a win will kind of move the needle, maybe quiet some of that stuff, which is trade rumors specifically?”
Hughes: “I mean, yeah, it was nice to get the win. I’m not getting the win so the media can stop talking, or whatever you guys say. I really don’t know. You know, it was just nice to get the win. We obviously needed it, and it was a good team win, and I was happy and happy for some of the young guys who came on the board and left it to me.”
