Teams take a look at Ottawa Senators center Stephen Halliday
Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman on 32 thoughts: The Podcast – Canada can’t refuse Connor Bedard’s episode on some teams wondering what the Ottawa Senators have in center Stephen Halliday.

Friedman: “You know the other name, it’s not a big name, but I was told by a few people that this is a player that I think a few teams are trying to see. What is his ceiling and what could his role look like in the NHL? And that’s Stephen Halliday from Ottawa.”
He is 23 years old. He just got a call. Not played much. They chased the game. I think he only got seven minutes on Thursday night. But you know, Halliday is a man. He was drafted 104th overall in 2022. He went to Ohio State. He played there for a few years.
Last year was his first professional year. He turned pro at the end of the 23-24 season and had nine points and seven playoff games for Belleville. Last year he scored 19 goals and 51 points. This year he scored one goal in 18 assists in 17 games. He has one assist in five games for the Senators.
NHL Rumors: Sabers and Ukko-Pekka Luukonen…the Canucks and Quinn Hughes

Kyle Bukauskas: “Pretty good hands too.”
Friedman: “Good hands. You’ve seen them more than I have, so I’ll take your word for it. I just heard that if you look at Ottawa, they’ve been pretty much in the middle for a long time. Like, they’ve signed guys who can play center for a while.”
And I just heard that this is a guy who will play more consistently in the NHL. I think people are trying to figure it out and look at him and say, ‘How high can he play?’ So that’s, that’s an interesting one there too.”
