“It doesn’t sound like there’s a whole lot of activity in terms of negotiations for an extension. So if they are willing, or willing to ask Panarin to waive his no-move clause, what will the response be? They hope to find out before the Olympic break as well.”

TSN: Chris Johnston adds that the Rangers are now looking and selling and not adding, and are no longer interested in Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood. The Rangers had offered the Canucks a second-round pick and a young player with some pedigree. It clearly wasn’t enough and shows what the Canucks are chasing for Sherwood, at the very least.
The Canucks are listening Elias Pettersson, Jake De Bruskand maybe Conor Garland. Johnston adds that if they trade any of these players, the order in which they are moved could be important.
