At least four teams are interested in Kiefer Sherwood, probably more
James Murphy of RG Media: Multiple sources have said the Boston Bruins are looking for scoring depth, with one saying they have inquired about Vancouver Canucks wingers Kiefer Sherwood And Conor Garland.
The Bruins aren’t the only ones looking at Sherwood, as another source said the New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabers and Detroit Red Wings have shown some interest.
The 30-year-old Sherwood is a pending UFA and has a cap hit of $1.5 million. The 29-year-old Garland has six years under a $6 million salary cap, with an extension that has not yet taken effect. Another source said the Canucks don’t really want to trade Garland because they see him as part of their core.

An NHL return this season for Alex Formenton ends today if he isn’t traded and signed
The Ottawa Citizen’s Bruce Garrioch: The deadline for the Ottawa Senators to sign or trade Alex FormentonThe company’s rights are due at 5pm today and there is “no chance” a transaction will take place. He will not be eligible to play in the NHL this season if he does not sign before the deadline.
He was among the players found not guilty in the sexual assault trial, and the Senators have been trying to trade his rights for months. NHL interest in him is limited and the Senators are looking for a draft pick in return.
He has signed with HC Ambri-Piotta in the Swiss league until the Christmas holidays and could stay there for the rest of the season. Formenton has scored five goals and four assists in twenty games this season. He has been out of the NHL since the end of the 2021-2022 season.
