Are Kevyn Adams’ days as GM of the Buffalo Sabers numbered?
Matthew Fairburn and Tim Graham of The Athletic: Three sources have said there have been internal conversations about the Buffalo Sabers firing GM Kevyn Adams. The Sabers are in Seattle and return to Buffalo on Monday.
Two sources said the final decision won’t be made until they get home from the road trip. A team spokesperson declined to comment and Adams did not respond to a text message.
Adams has been the Sabers General Manager for the past five and a half seasons and has one year left on his contract. The Sabers have not been to the playoffs in the last fourteen seasons and are last in the Eastern Conference.

Jarmo Kekalainen joined the Sabers as a senior advisor last May and is the logical person to take over full-time or as interim GM. Kekalainen is currently back in Finland dealing with a personal matter.
Whoever steps in will have to make a decision on pending UFA Alex Tuch before the trade deadline. Waiting for RFA to deal with this offseason are Josh Doan, Zach Benson and Michael Kesselring.
