TSN: The Florida Panthers have a number of UFAs pending, including forward AJ Greer and defenseman Jeff Petry, who could be moved at the deadline, according to Pierre LeBrun. Kevin Weekes wondered this week whether goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky could be traded, as he has not been extended. LeBrun notes:
“And you know, right now in the season, given his issues, it’s not the time to approach him for an extension. That would wait until after the year. So keep an eye on that one if Florida doesn’t make a run here.”
Not much activity on St. Louis Blues Jordan Binnington, but there is some others
TSN: Darren Dreger said there isn’t much trade activity surrounding St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington right now, but a few others are getting interested.

“I look at captain Brayden Schenn. It seems like his name is known every year. He doesn’t necessarily have the courage to be rebuilt. Could he be a fit? But there is a lot of traction on veteran defenseman Justin Faulk.”
David Pagnotta: The St. Louis Blues attempted to trade Mathieu Joseph, and he was placed on waivers on Thursday. They hope to move him before the trade deadline if he clears waivers.
The Ottawa Senators continue to search for a right-handed defenseman
The Ottawa Citizen’s Bruce Garrioch: Sources say Ottawa Senators GM Steve Staios continues to search for a right-handed defenseman and forward who can play in the top six.
A right-handed defenseman is the top priority as Dman Nick Jensen struggles with offseason hip surgery. There aren’t many options right now and the costs are high.
NHL Rumors: San Jose Sharks will be cautious buyers at the deadline
Calgary Flames defenseman MacKenzie Weegar is of interest to the Senators. He has a cap hit of $6.25 million through 2030-31. The Sens also broke Flames Zach Whitecloud.
The Senators aren’t alone in their search for a right-handed defenseman, as the Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars and Utah Mammoth are also believed to be looking. The Red Wings have also shown some interest in Weegar.
Sources say the Flames want a first- or second-round pick and a top prospect or marquee player for Weegar.
Other possible options include Brandon Carlo (Maple Leafs), Dougie Hamilton (Devils), Connor Murphy (Blackhawks), Justin Faulk (Blues) and Colton Parayko (Blues).
The Senators don’t have a first-round pick this year. A league executive said the only candidates of interest were defensemen Carter Yakemchuk and Logan Hensler. The Senators are not interested in trading Yaremchuk or Hensler.

Pending UFAs they could eventually trade are forwards Claude Giroux, David Perron, Lars Eller and Nick Cousins and defenseman Jensen. AHL goalie Mads Sogaard could be traded.
