The Edmonton Oilers need to be careful not to beat Devan Dubnyk Stuart Skinner
Zach Laing of Oilers Nation: Bob Stauffer said the Edmonton Oilers can’t make the same mistake with goaltender Stuart Skinner as they did with goaltender Devan Dubnyk and move on from him too quickly.
“I don’t want Edmonton to make the same mistake they made with Dubnyk,” Stauffer said during a televised appearance. Chiclets spit podcast. “I think you should give Skinner a chance. He’s 26. He was never supposed to be the starting goalkeeper for a play-off game two years ago. Jack Campbell was supposed to be the number one goalkeeper in the order at the start of the year.”

Skinner should have some wiggle room this season, but if there’s no success, Stauffer said it might be time for a change of direction. If all goes well, he might get a long-term extension.
