TSN: Chris Johnston said that goalkeeper Carter is going through his options and he is able to agree with a team on October 1 and is officially able to register the contract on 15 October.
“He is currently due to about three to four potential teams, two of those teams that I can see you are the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes. And the expectation here is or two or perhaps three, he will start excluding some of those remaining teams, clearly choose where he is going.”
Rasmus Andersson has been traded more often than extensive
TSN: Pierre Lebrun said it is more likely that Calgary Flames defender Rasmus Andersson will be traded than signing an extension. On both sides the door closes with an extension, but for now they will see how it is about the season.
“I think Andersson could possibly listen to whether there was an eight -year offer on the table, but at the moment I don’t think the team is ready to go there. We will see where all this is going. I think a trade is more than probably the most likely option before the trading deadline of 6 March.”

TSN: Darren Dreger said there have been preliminary conversations between the Calgary Flames and head coach Ryan Huska, and between the Edmonton Oilers and head coach Kris Knoblauch.
Not much concern of the Winnipeg Jets side of things with Kyle Connor
James Murphy from RG Media: Winnipeg Jets chairman Mark Chipman is not worried about where they are on their way with contract discussions with hanging UFA Kyle Connor, and that he thinks a deal will be closed.
“No, I think my feeling, and I am not immediately involved, this is what Chevy has done so well for us and his group, so I don’t imagine that ‘KC’ is going somewhere,” Chipman replied. “I think he is part of that group I was talking about. He is part of our core, and these guys are very, very close. I think it would be my expectation that we will do a little earlier instead of later. My instincts tell me that this will probably be done.”
