Erik Erlendsson: Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh was placed on IR. He is considered more than just the day-to-day, and they are unsure if he will travel with the team on their trip to the West Coast.
Benjamin Pierce: Lightning forward Brandon Hagel returned to the lineup last night.
Nick Barden: Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo was back on the ice this weekend. He had surgery on his foot on December 3 and the recovery was expected to take a month.

We need to get him back up to speed, but he’s had a couple of really good weeks, which is a really good sign. Knowing he hasn’t had a setback in two weeks is huge. If we think he’s in top form, then he can make some contact.”
