- Travis Hunter Starts with attack And defense: Hunter became the first NFL player to have completed this since 2008.
- Tyquan Thornton Fight for his role: Thornton fell on the depth card on the fourth card with the return of Xavier Worthy, but he still led the team and should continue to play a role in the attack.
The weekly Travis Hunter UPDATE: The Jaguars expanded Hunter’s role in week 5 and started him on both attack and defense.
At attack, the Jaguars Hunter remained heavy in three broad recipient sets. He had already played 84.1% of Snaps in 11 employees for the first four weeks and was still used more consistently in that package – playing 100% of the 11 staff in the first half. In particular, Hunter also saw his first action in two-wide recipient sets. He had not been used at all in that personnel group that so far during the pre -season or the regular season, because the Jaguars had facilitated him in the attack by starting with 11 staff members. Although they were only a few plays, it indicates a potential expansion of his attacking role.
Hunter had a quiet first half with only a reception of 12 meters, but he made a highlight-reel 44-yard catch early in the second half. That game alone set a new career high for receiving recruiting.
Hunter wrote history by starting with both attack and defense and became the first NFL player to do this in a single match since 2008. He stood in line in five-plus defending back sets on the first two defensive discs before he sat the next three. He returned in the middle of the third quarter for the sixth and seventh rides, and continued to play on left cornerback – his usual place when on the defense.
Although Hunter still does not see enough goals to justify a place in most fantasy -lights, this version was a step in the right direction after a quiet few weeks.

Monitor Brenton StrangeHealth: Strange ran a hip injury late in the first half and did not return.
Strange started the game and played 22 of the first 26 snaps of the Jaguars, an 85% percentage that marked a slight increase in his earlier use. He entered 22 meters one catch before he left the game. The injury was not clear at that time did not come on a target and did not result in an interruption but he missed the last play of Jacksonville’s first TouchDown-Drive and the two-minute drill. He was doubtfully ruled during the break and was officially excluded early in the fourth quarter.
To replace him, the Jaguars leaned on Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long. Mundt mainly used run -blocking tasks, while long saw more work in passing situations. Jacksonville also promoted Quintin Morris to the 53-man selection for the competition, and he joined the rotation in three-striking final sets.
If Strange is missing time, Long is the most likely candidate to see an increase in use, but it is unlikely that he matches the production of Strange because of the limited playing time and receiving assets. Unless you are in a very deep competition where all starting tight ends are roasted, it is probably better to look at the wire elsewhere.
Tyquan Thornton Vecht for a greater role: Thornton led the chiefs in receiving yards and dragged three explosive receptions a total of 90 meters.
Kansas City started the season with Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster as their top three broad recipients. Worthy’s early injury in week 1 opened the door for Tyquan Thornton to get into the number 3 roll, and he took advantage of a reception of at least 30 yards and a touchdown in each of his first three games.
Wormthy’s return in week 4 pushed Thornton into the depth card, which limited it to only 34.2% of the attacking snaps. Smith-Schuster led the group at 78%, with the trouble to lower back to 59%. Jalen Royals also debuted about the attack, registered 19% of Snaps and raised questions about the future role of Thornton.
In week 5, however, Thornton saw more playing time than the week before, despite the raised workload of Worthy. Royals and Smith-Schuster were the two recipients who saw reduced roles, suggesting that Thornton remains in the team’s plans.
With Rashee Rice set to return from the suspension in week 7, the wide rotation of the recipient can become a printer. But Thornton has played well enough to stay involved – it possible after the return of Rice, possibly 50% of the snaps. This can mean a reduced role for Smith-Schuster or Brown. Although Thornton does not see enough volume to be a consistent fantasy starter, his use could start eating on deep goals in the fantasy value of Worthy.

Table notes
- Snaps include plays that are mentioned back because of penalties, including keeping offensive or defensive pass -interference. The other three statistics have removed these plays.
- Goals can differ from official NFL sources. The most likely discrepancy would come from a clear shot pass, whereby the NFL can give the target to the nearest recipient, while this data does not.
- Carries are only on designed plays. Quarterback Scrambles do not count for the total number of Carry’s in the game.
