Several higher doge officials are busy leaving the Trump government while Elon Musk is officially distance, sources told ABC News on Thursday.

Among them is James Burnham, Doge’s top lawyer, and Steve Davis, an old Musk -Lieutenant at Musk’s private companies, who are both busy with the offboarding of their role as special government employees, a White House officer confirmed to ABC News.

Musk, the billionaire -CEO of Tesla and X who helped launch the Ministry of Government Efficiency to lower the federal government, said on Wednesday that he wanted to thank President Donald Trump “if my planned time comes to an end.”

Musk and various other doge employees were hired at the start of the presidency of the Trump as special government employees, who are limited to 130 days of service – although Musk has said earlier that he expects Doge to continue through Trump’s term of office.

So far, Doge has claimed that the government savings of $ 175 billion, although the aggressive cost -saving tactics have produced tens of lawsuits and accusations that her work is unconstitutional.

Katie Miller, a special employee of the government who had served as a senior advisor and spokesperson for Doge, also leaves the administration and will collaborate with Musk, says sources.

Burnham was an important lawyer who worked closely with Musk and Doge on the legal strategy of the team. Davis, who served as one of Musk’s oldest advisers at Doge, was seen as running daily operations and worked in several federal agencies during his term of office.

ABC News has contacted those involved. Sources told ABC News that other special government employees who worked with doge were also planning to switch off.

While Musk leaves the administration, a senior official of the administration said that he will continue to serve as an unofficial adviser to the president and could possibly attend the White House in the future.

While civil servants of the White House are on the fact that Musk and Trump are on good conditions while Musk is leaving, the president has been silent about the departure of Musk’s critical remarks on CBS news about Trump’s “big beautiful” expenditure account that the Republican-led house adopted last week.

“In the course of time, the @Doge mission will only strengthen if it becomes a way of life in the government,” said Musk in the social media post that announced his departure on Wednesday.
