We asked ‘Matt Busby told Joe Harvey’ to give us his match reviews and comments from players after Newcastle 2 Espanyol 2.
A game with many talk points.
Shared four goals and a fine stored by Aaron Ramsdale.
Espanyol takes the lead in 17 minutes and gets their second with a minute of normal time.
In between, Matt Targett and Jacob Murphy score the United goals.
Newcastle United Player Ratings:
Ramsdale – 8
Couldn’t do much with the goals he admitted, saved a penalty and showed that his footwork has improved since Arteta treated him so poorly.
I like to start at Villa next week.
Brand – 7
Stable if you leave the big man.
Schar – 7
Showed that he still has it.
Hall – 7
Well played. Great to see him again
Krafth – 7
Our Emil is always reliable. I thought he looked Canny.
Miley – 8
One of our better artists. Great cross for our first goal. Looked together.
Guimaraes – 7
Always a class act, our captain is fantastic.
His range passes and intelligence when releasing the ball, still almost always.
Targett – 6
What can you say, villain became hero, became villain.
After making good for that terrible pass that led to the opener of Espanyol, he got us again on conditions before he gave the punishment. Our worst singing alongside Osula since the takeover.
Murphy – 7
Took his goal well and looked diligent.
I hope we will see more consistency of Jacob Murphy, now he has some competition in that right flank.
Osula – 5
I’m sorry, but I don’t see a Premier League player when I look at this boy.
Park – 7
Looks alive and full of energy. I can see a potential in him.
Subs:
Harrison – 6
It seemed that the game passed him a bit.
Neave – 5
Not long was 18 and at the moment, no better option than Osula at the moment on this show.
