Newcastle 1 Arsenal 2 – Sunday 28 September 2025 4.30 pm
Instant fan / writer response from some of our regular contributors on the MAG.
Nat Seaton:
‘A brilliant game from Premier League football that we got out of the wrong side.
It didn’t deserve to lose and enough to be proud of.
The competition table does not reflect where we really are and there are good things.
Hard defeat to take, but the next match is Newcastle in the Champions League, which is enough to make me smile (anyway in a few hours!) “
Billy Miller:
‘Mixing.
I was looking forward to the Arteta interview when it seemed as if we were going to win, but the channel was immediately changed to full -time.
A game in which the opposition threw itself at the least touch and then dragged our fate down continuously.
I cannot decide which team from Arsenal and Liverpool would want me to be the least champions.
Leaving for both at St James’ is difficult to take.
Would like to see Ramsdale come in for the midweek competition.
Paus has made a number of fantastic rescues today and had a solid start the season. However, I think he could at least have diving before the equalizer and had the feeling that he had completely failed to the second.
We look so much more secure with the ball when we can give it to Ramsdale and know that it will not be launched for a throw or directly to the opposition.
Don’t try to get a grab and sinize him scapegoats, but it would be interesting to see a series of games for Ramsdale. ‘
Simon Ritter:
“What a pathogenic blow.
Not only to our season, but to Livramento, felled by a cynical inland vessel while he wins the ball in the air.
The mistake made Tino left the field on a stretcher and the game tilted in favor of the dirty Woolwich.
Everyone who says that the victory was earned ignores the rule that cheats should not flourish. They did that today. ‘
Gatoon:
“Pope held us in most of the game.
That was a difficult watch when we were surpassed for the most part of the competition.
It seems that a difficult season is. ‘
Matt Busby said …:
“Sucker hit and it felt terrible. Just terrible.
And yet it had come.
Pope Motm had not been for his ridiculous distribution.
We were beaten today by a very good team. ‘
Tony Mallabar:
‘Steed to lose at the end, but no lack of effort from everyone in black and white/
Felt at the end for Nick Pope. But that’s life.
Early night tonight, then pack me, because we are on our way to Brussels on Tuesday morning. ‘
David Point:
‘Another cartel team, another late winner. Cruelty on steroids.
However, you can’t just lean back on 1-0. It requires problems.
So we are stuck on six points.
It was all after taking the lead.
The non -allocation of a late fine – given them – eventually became crucial.
This inability to see of games is a concern. Once a week seems to be a very difficult match.
Less than convinced by Eddie’s sub -choices today.
Then we have the Tino Hammer blow, with what looks a serious knee injury.
It was really a bad day for us. ‘
