Spears has his stumps splash.
Wicket! Matt Henry C Stoinis B Abbott 6 (New Zealand 146-8)
Get rid of it! Henry Skies a catch from Abbott. New Zealand falls in a bit of a lot with the last …
18th about: New Zealand 144-7 (Henry 4, Sears 0) Ben Sears is the new man in the middle.
Wicket! Michael Bracewell C Short B Zampa 26 (New Zealand 144-7)
Not what the Kiwi doctor ordered. Bracewell holes from too long, Zampa does the company, only four runs and the Wicket of the Over. Two to go.
17th about: New Zealand 140-6 (Bracewell 24, Neesham 21) Neesham’s Wicket is a big, Matt Henry is the new batter. What can the black caps collect?
Wicket! Jimmy Neesham C Abbott B Bartlett 25 (New Zealand 138-5)
Neesham takes Bartlett away for four but decides in the deep next ball!
16th about: New Zealand 134-5 (Bracewell 24, Neesham 21) Abbott returns and almost Pins Neesham LBW but the referee says no. The repetition shows that the stone was dead, so that is a disappointment for new Zeeland. Seven from the over, four to go, we can now see some fireworks …
15th about: New Zealand 127-5 (Bracewell 20, Neesham 19) Neesham Top edges Stoinis for six! Plays and misses the next ball, but then opens the shoulders to erase the fence at Midwicket for six more! Brutal batting of Neesham, he fluctuates back and hits Stoinis four more through the leg side for four, seventeen runs from the other side!
14th about: New Zealand 110-5 (Bracewell 19, Neesham 3) Zampa gives a little too much air and is shot on the floor by Bracewell! New Zelaland wants to set a challenging goal, they have the basis and these two can be one tagous ball.
13th about: New Zealand 100-5 (Bracewell 11, Neesham 1) Jimmy Neesham is the new man, he can only get one of the last ball of the over to bring three digits for the home team.
Wicket! Tim Seifert C Head B Bartlett 48 (New Zealand 99-5)
The danger man is going! An attempt at shovel is linked directly to Travis Head to the backward point.
12th about: New Zealand 99-4 (Seifert 48, Bracewell 11) Stoinis Blekt his copybook by shooting five width on the leg side. Bracewell then gets an upper edge for four above Carey and follows a handy scoop for four more!
11th about: New Zealand 82-4 (Seifert 45, Bracewell 3) Zampa continues and works five from his second. Both parties fight for predominance.
10th about: New Zealand 77-4 (Seifert 43, Bracewell 0) Michael Bracewell is the new Slagman and he is good and really tied by stoinis who starts with a less spotted T20 Wicket-Maiden.
Wicket! Daryl Mitchell C † Carey B Stoinis 9 (New Zealand 77-4)
Mitchell arranges a large hoick but only gets a fleshy edge for Carey. Australia picks up another one.
9th about: New Zealand 77-3 (Seifert 43, Mitchell 9) Zampa starts with four singles, but is then cracked for two four of the last two balls of the Over Van Seifert. He is the danger who wants to see Australia the back of Pronto.
8th about: New Zealand 66-3 (Seifert 34, Mitchell 7) Abbott continues. Seifert does that too – a six strikes over long with a lot of brutal power. However, the kiwis can only manage both parties, ten from the other side. Adam Zampa stands up for a turning.
7th about: New Zealand 56-3 (Seifert 27, Mitchell 5) Hazlewood bowling out. He is pumping for four through the ground through Mitchell and stooped over cover for another border of Seifert, but ends his day work with the ball with 2-26. Don’t get started at all.
6th about: New Zealand 46-3 (Seifert 22, Mitchell 0) Daryl Mitchell is the new man and he is defeated by his first ball. His second soils in his box. Ouchy.
Get breathe daryl there. I typed That on the melody of this:
Wicket! Mark Chapman C David B Abbott 4 (New Zealand 46-3)
Sean Abbott received a swirl by Captain Marsh and his first ball was inexplicably sent up for a review, it missed a different set, so the less said the better.
Chapman turns to the next ball and hits it through the blankets.
What a catch! Tim David then pulls one over the shoulder tunna for a long time to get rid of Chapman. That is so hard to take and he did it sublime. Great athletics.
5th about: New Zealand 41-2 (Seifert 22, Chapman 0) Mark Chapman is the new batter and he was immediately attached to the front cushion by Hazlewood! It looks like a SMIDGE High … The referee thinks so too, but Australia sends it up … Not out – going over. Hazlewood caps of a fine by tying along the outer edge with his sixth ball.
Wicket! Tim Robinson C † Carey B Hazlewood 13 (New Zealand 41-2)
Hazlewood gets a third over the spider and picks up Robinson with a back of a length that runs away and takes the lead!
4th about: New Zealand 36-1 (Seifert 21, Robinson 13) Xavier Bartlett gets a second one. We don’t get many Xavier’s here in Blightty either.
Anyway, Bartlett induces a swing and a Miss from Seifert before a Spawny four is won from the inside. SHOT! Seifert then marmalized a slog sweep high and long over deep midwicket for six. Bartlett gets a slower ball completely wrong and serves a full bunger that Seifert hits four more past him. Fifteen of the over, new -zeeland on the lead!
3rd about: New Zealand 21-1 (Seifert 6, Robinson 13) That will do it. Robinson hits the first ball back over point for six! It was short and wide and received the treatment. Hazlewood comes short again and four more is beaten over the damp bay oval! The long fast bowler has a chunter for itself and then becomes tighter and ends with three dots.
The players are there again, Hazlewood has the ball. Tim Robinson in strike – Play!
Good news! The blankets are now being pulled out, the rain has stopped and we have one Start lost again in five minutes without overs.
While the rain falls and the coverage is achieved, we have some nomenclature riffs in the OBO post bag thanks to Kandukuru Nagarjun.
‘Hello James, I casually looked at the OBO to see another Mitchell: Owen. To go with Starc, Marsh, Johnson, Swepson, McClenghan, Santner and others, I know for sure that I will forget.
“But before the modern era, I can’t remember any cricket mitchell. Is this a statistical grill, or was the name really popular for Antipodean Babies born a few decades ago? And did the popularity say?
I hope that your very erudite readership is able to throw some light. ‘
We don’t get many Mitchell’s or Mitch’s here in the UK, not at least as a first name, me Consider …
Rain stops playing. Let’s hope it’s just a passing shower.
2nd about: New Zealand 7-1 (Seifert 6, Robinson 0) The batters cut and push to rotate the battle, but there is no big shot in diversity. Gah! The rain is getting heavier and the players run from the outfield.
1st about: New Zealand 7-1 (Seifert 6, Robinson 0) Tim Robinson is the new batter, Xavier Bartlett has second place for Australia. There is some drizzle in the air …
Wicket! Devon Conway C Marsh B Hazlewood 0 (New Zealand 7-1)
It is an all -action start while Seifert moves over his stumps and Hazlewood Stout bodels For six of the third ball of the game. A bitter smile on the face of the bowler after that shot. A bone buoy puts Conway strike.
Get rid of it!
Conway tries a ride but sticks a more tealer to Mitch Marsh in the ring. He will not be happy with that, it moved first, both parties land an early blow.
Let’s do this immediately. Josh Hazlewood has the new ball and Tim Seifert will first look with the bat. Devon Conway is with the non-triker. Let’s play!
The players come to the outfield, but there is more rain floating … It might be one of those competitions.
New Zealand Captain Michael Bracewell says he likes to first Bat and confirms that his side is also unchanged:
Teams:
New -Zeeland Tim Seifert (WK), Devon Conway, Tim Robinson, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Michael Bracewell (C), Jimmy Neesham, Matt Henry, Ben Sears, Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy
Australia Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh (C), Matt Short, Tim David, Alex Carey (World Championship), Marcus Stoinis, Mitch Owen, Xavier Bartlett, Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood
Stand at your beds everyone, we can get some cricket!
Australia wins the throw and will first bowl!
Go in there! The coin has turned around and it has landed Mitch Marsh and Australia. Marsh does not confirm changes to his side and expects that there will be a little life in the Wicket, because it has been on and off lately.
Well, it’s not good news, but it’s not terrible either. The throw is delayed for 15 minutes Because there is some light drizzle that does the rounds. Start those sun dancing people now.
Preamble
James Wallace
Hello and welcome to the third T20i between New Zealand and Australia from the Bay Oval. After yesterday’s leaching, it is a case of fingers and toes crossed that the weather gods are more friendly today and we get a kind of game.
The radar looks a bit dodgy, but my sources on the floor tell me that some blue sky is right, whether it is enough to make a sailor a pants, to be seen.
We must indeed have De Gooi and team news. Contact us if you are tuned.
