New video showed what a furious Phillies fan told a father she was to transfer a home runbal that he had just given to his son.
The father held a home runnall that hit Harrison Bader in the left field during the Phillies-Marlins match on Friday evening in Loandewot Park and then gave it to his son, Lincoln, a few seats away, before the two shared a heart-warming hug.
But the woman then accused the father, took his shoulders and demanded the ball back, apparently in the conviction that she was entitled to it because it was closer to her chair.
“That was mine. You took it away from me,” she shouted at the father. “It was in my hands.”
However, it was not clear that the ball was once in the hands of the woman.
And several fans racing to catch the ball – not just the woman.
Yet the father gave the ball to her before she shot her back to her chair.
A representative of Marlins later came to the section, apologized to Lincoln – who celebrated his birthday – and gave him a “goodie bag” with different gifts.
“That wasn’t ok,” said the Marlins representative to Lincoln. “So we brought you a cool little goodie bag. … I’m so sorry.”
After the game, Bader met Lincoln and gave him a signed bat.
The incident quickly went viral on social media.
It is amid a series of similar incidents at other sporting events.
At the US Open last week, Polish Millionaire Piotr Szczerek grabbed a signed hat that tennis star Kamil Majchrzak was planning to give a young boy.
Majchrzak later met the young boy and gave him a gift bag.
A Mets fan also went viral from grabbing a ball from an older fan on Citi Field.
