New house price record set for Hills District through sale of house in Glenhaven – realestate.com.au

The Allam property developer family’s Grade II listed Glenhaven estate has been sold by Merc Real Estate agent Mechlenne Douaihy for an undisclosed price.

But buyers were told to bid in excess of $15 million, exceeding the current Hills District record set in Middle Dural last August.

The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house on Gilmour Close, which has parking for ten cars, a sauna for fourteen people, a commercial bar, a 23-metre indoor pool, a tennis court and a gym, was a previous Hills record holder.

The house was put on the market in December.

The acreage owned by the family behind the development company Allam Property Group

It was purchased in 2019 by project developer Barney Allam OAM, who died last year.

When the home was put on the market, agent Mechlenne Douaihy remained tight-lipped about what the expected sales price would be, but he noted that numerous celebrities and richlisters showed interest when the home was last for sale in 2019.

“This house is the most talked about and most iconic house in the neighborhood,” she said.

“I haven’t seen anything like this in 22 years of (working in) real estate.”

The building has changed hands several times in the 2010s.

The property was last purchased by property developer Barney Allam in 2019.


It was previously owned by restaurateur Frank Criniti, who sold the house for $9 million in 2015.

The highest price previously paid for a house in the region was the $15 million paid for a six-bedroom plot in Middle Dural in July last year.
