The new Spring Rail schedules from the Chicago Transit Authority start on Sunday.

The desk added more service to the blue line and yellow line and resumed posted speeds on the “Skokie Swift” trains.

In particular, the new improvements include:

  • Blue Line O’Hare Branch: Two extra journeys every weekday added, six extra journeys added on Saturday, five extra journeys added on Sunday
  • Blue Line Forest Park Branch: 30 Extra Travel Added every weekday, 17 extra journeys added on Saturday, two extra journeys added on Sunday
  • Yellow Line: Service in the early morning will be better in line with the early morning day service of the Red Line. The first northern yellow line train will leave Howard at 4.40 am, and the southern service of Dempster-Kokie starts at 4.55 am

CTA said that the new schedules will reduce waiting times for riders, especially during the weekend. It is intended to offer more frequent service for travelers.

Extra service at the O’Hare location was specifically added to make an increase in riders who switches to the Blue Line to prevent construction traffic during the Kennedy Expressway Bridge Reconstruction Project in collaboration with the Illinois Department of Transportation.
