Netflix, Balaji Telefilms sign long -term creative deal to develop various streaming projects

The collaboration will make use of the divisions of Balaji – Balaji Motion Pictures and Balaji Telefilms Digital – to provide culturally resonating content for the global streaming audience of Netflix.

Streaming Gigantic Netflix and Ekta Kapoor’s production banner Balaji Telefilms LTD announced a long -term creative collaboration on Saturday to develop a wide range of projects in different formats with telling stories.

As part of the partnership, Netflix and Balaji will deliver “fresh and culturally resonating content” made tailor -made for streaming the public.

It will stretch over the different divisions of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, including Balaji Motion Pictures and Balaji Telefilms Digital, said a press release.

The first offer of the collaboration is a self -titled series that is currently in advanced stages of development, with more projects that are expected to follow soon.

“At Balaji Telefilms telling stories has always been the core of everything we do – whether via cinema, television or digital platforms. Working together with Netflix, the world’s leading stories that is known for its premium content and constant innovation, is a big moment for us,” Kapoor said.

“It enables us to take powerful, culturally rooted and emotionally resonant stories into a global audience. The start of this new collaboration marks an exciting new chapter in which we continue to push creative boundaries and deliver content that inspires and connects entertainment,” she added.

Monika Shergill, vice-president, content, Netflix India, Kapoor described as “a force in shaping Indian entertainment with unforgettable stories and characters that made pop culture before Hashtags existed”.

“Her creative instinct and deep understanding of the pulse of the public have consistently distinguished her from shaping what India has chosen and loved for more than two decades.

“At Netflix it is our focus to serve the audience with very diverse flavors and this collaboration will bring unique stories in rotten ways, mark an exciting new chapter in our creative journey,” Shergill said.

Balaji and Netflix have previously worked together on various much -praised films such as “Kathal”, “Pagglait”, “Jaane Jaan” and “Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare”.
